CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — PRO3 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Jose s. Hidalgo Jr. said that previous measures which were implemented during the previous typhoons are already being carried out to prepare for the possible landfall of Super Typhoon “Betty” (Mawar), late Friday night or Saturday dawn (May 27).
Hidalgo also said that the entire Central Luzon police are on full alert and all guidelines under the PNP Critical Incident Management Operational Procedures ( CIMOP) are strictly being observed which includes manpower, equipment, and related capabilities for disaster response.
“As directed by the C, PNP Gen. Benjamin C. Acorda Jr. we are working closely with the local disaster risk reduction management councils (DRRMCs) to ensure the safety of the public during the onslaught of Super Typhoon Betty and I have instructed all unit commanders to conduct pre-deployment briefing to our men on the ground for precautionary measures as we also want our personnel to be safe during natural disasters and emergencies,” Hidalgo added.
Meanwhile, the top cop also called out to the public especially those who are living in low-lying areas to cooperate and heed the disaster preparedness plan of the local government units (LGUs), particularly in evacuating to safer places to guarantee their safety during the onslaught of the super typhoon here in the region.
