BAMBAN, Tarlac City — The 1st Civil Relations Group, Civil-Military Operations Command, Armed Forces of the Philippines under the operational control of Northern Luzon Command, AFP in partnership with local government units (LGUs), conducted a simultaneous display of West Philippine Sea (WPS) standees and information awareness materials in the municipalities of Bamban and Sta. Ignacia, Tarlac on Monday (July 13) as part of a coordinated effort to strengthen public awareness and national solidarity on maritime issues.
The activity was complemented by simultaneous flag-raising ceremonies, symbolizing unity and patriotism in support of the country’s sovereign rights. In Sta. Ignacia, the activity was graced by Municipal Mayor Hon. Nathaniel L. Tan together with members of the Sangguniang Bayan. In Bamban, Acting Mayor Hon. Leonardo Anunciacion was also present, joined by officials and personnel from the Municipality of Bamban.
This initiative underscores the AFP’s continuing commitment, alongside LGUs and key stakeholders, to advance a whole-of-nation approach in promoting and protecting the country’s national interests in the West Philippine Sea. It highlights the Philippines’ maritime victory to both domestic and international audiences while reinforcing the importance of unity among government agencies, the private sector, civil society, and the Filipino people.
Strategically placed in high-visibility public areas, the information materials feature key developments and legal milestones that affirm the country’s sovereign rights and entitlements under international law. The initiative aims to make critical information more accessible to communities and encourage informed public discourse on maritime issues.
Through this joint AFP–LGU initiative, information and education campaigns are further intensified to deepen public understanding, promote nationalism, and strengthen the Filipino people’s patriotic commitment to safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty, sovereign rights, and future.
