CITY OF MALOLOS — All three lanes in both directions of the San Simon Interchange and Tulaoc section of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) are now open to all types of vehicles as of 8:50 a.m. on September 8, 2026, following sustained flood mitigation and clearing efforts by NLEX Corporation and its government and private sector partners.
These efforts helped restore all lanes in the affected sections, allowing the resumption of normal traffic operations. NLEX continues to undertake flood mitigation measures, including dredging of the Tulaoc River and clearing and improvement works along the NLEX embankment, to improve water flow and help mitigate flooding in the area.
With all lanes now open, the toll rebate for motorists traversing the San Fernando–Pulilan stretch will be lifted effective 12:01 p.m. on September 9, 2026. The rebate was implemented upon the directive of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) while flooding conditions persisted. The temporary toll exemption for provincial buses will remain in effect.
NLEX remains committed to working closely with its government and private sector partners to help ensure the safety and accessibility of motorists and support efforts to mitigate flooding in the area and affected communities. (UnliNews Online)
