BALIWAG CITY — Senator Joel Villanueva met with local chief executives across Bulacan on Friday as part of ongoing consultations to get a clearer picture of various issues in the province ahead of the Senate’s deliberations on the 2027 national budget.
Sixteen out of the 24 mayors of cities and municipalities in the province of Bulacan attended the invitation of Sen. Joel Villanueva to join him also in celebrating his 51st birthday at the Star Arena in the said city.
He also raised various concerns, foremost of which is the supply of water in the province.
“Bagamat marami na po tayong napagtagumpayan dito sa Bulacan, marami pa rin po tayong mga problemang kinakaharap sa kasalukuyan,” Villanueva said. “Sama-sama po tayong tugunan ang mga pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayan lalo na ang mga mahihirap at walang trabaho.”
While in Baliwag, Villanueva also led the ceremonial turnover of over 2,000 food packs to residents.
Villanueva also stopped at Guiguinto, and Marilao to gather input on local needs alongside a day of aid distribution and skills training.
In Guiguinto, he attended Tech-Voc Scholar’s Day, a community-based training showcase featuring live demonstrations in bread and pastry production, reflexology, haircutting, barista skills and bartending.
The scholar’s day is a joint initiative of Villanueva, TESDA, and the Guiguinto Public Employment Service Office (PESO) that doubled as a job and scholarship drive, with PESO accepting job applications on site and participating TVIs issuing enrollment coupons for available TESDA scholarship slots.
He capped the day with the distribution of 1,000 rain gear sets and 1,000 hygiene kits to grade school and high school students in Marilao.
