CITY OF MALOLOS — Bulacan earned two major recognitions at the 2026 Central Luzon SubayBAYANI Awards, securing honors for its farm-to-market road project in Norzagaray and exemplary provincial governance during the awarding ceremony held at Widus Hotel, Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga, on Thursday (October 8).
The province received the SubayBAYANI Exemplar Award for the concreting of the farm-to-market road in Barangay San Mateo, Norzagaray, and the Most Outstanding Performer Award for Exemplary Provincial Governance, recognizing its accomplishments in infrastructure implementation and governance.
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Central Luzon organized the summit under the theme “Recognizing Outstanding Local Governance and Infrastructure for a Progressive Central Luzon” to honor LGUs demonstrating accountability, sustainability, and excellence in public service.
Bulacan’s farm-to-market road project stood out as a prime example of local infrastructure development, earning recognition through the summit’s Most Significant Change Story for Locally Funded Projects.
The province’s Most Outstanding Performer distinction further recognized its commitment to responsive, transparent, and community-centered governance, demonstrating how effective leadership and collaboration can translate public investments into meaningful benefits for residents.
Bulacan also placed as a regional finalist for Best Local Project Monitoring Committee (LPMC), recognizing the province’s commitment to transparent, accountable, and community-driven project monitoring.
Other local government units in Bulacan were also cited for exemplary performance in project monitoring and governance. The City of Meycauayan and Municipality of Pulilan earned both the SubayBAYANI Exemplar and Most Outstanding Performer awards, with Meycauayan also placing as an LPMC regional finalist alongside City of San Jose del Monte and Angat. Meanwhile, the City of Malolos and Municipality of Obando received SubayBAYANI Exemplar honors, the Municipality of Doña Remedios Trinidad was named a Lil Hub Partner, and San Jose del Monte was cited as SubayBAYANI Compliant.
Also present during the awarding ceremony were Atty. Nikki Manuel S. Coronel, Chief of Staff and representative of Governor Daniel R. Fernando, DILG Bulacan Provincial Director Myrvi Apostol-Fabia, Provincial Planning and Development Office OIC – Department Head Engr. Randy Po and other PGB employees among others.
