CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police arrested the primary suspect in a shooting incident in Barangay Longos, Calumpit, Bulacan, less than 12 hours after a 32-year-old man was shot and wounded at around 8:25 a.m. on Friday (October 9).
The arrest followed a coordinated hot pursuit operation by several police units under the Police Regional Office 3’s (PRO3) “Kuyog System”.
Calumpit MPS immediately launched a pursuit operation under the JBM Kuyog System, bringing together concerned police units for intelligence sharing, route monitoring, suspect tracking, and follow-up operations.
Using CCTV footage, intelligence reports, and continuous monitoring, police tracked the suspect from Calumpit to Malolos City and later to Angeles City.
At around 7:15 p.m on the same day, joint personnel from Calumpit MPS, Regional Intelligence Unit 3, Bulacan intelligence units, Malolos CPS, Plaridel MPS, Pulilan MPS, Paombong MPS, CIDG Bulacan, and Angeles City Police Station 5 arrested the primary suspect in Brgy. Cutcut, Angeles City.
Further operations led to the recovery of a .45 caliber pistol believed to have been used in the shooting and the motorcycle allegedly used as the getaway vehicle. Another individual was also arrested for allegedly assisting the suspect’s escape.
PRO3 Director P/Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez, commended the personnel involved and credited the quick result to close coordination among police units.
“The JBM Kuyog System is about making sure our units move as one. When information is shared quickly and everyone knows their role, we are able to act faster and close the gaps that suspects try to exploit. This operation showed what coordinated and determined police work can accomplish,”RD Mendez said.
Charges for Frustrated Murder and violation of Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, are being prepared against the arrested suspects.
“Sa JBM Kuyog System, hindi kanya-kanyang galaw. Kapag may krimen, sama-sama ang kilos, mabilis ang koordinasyon, at tuloy-tuloy ang pagtugis hanggang ma-account ang mga responsable,” Gen. Mendez added. (UnliNews Online)
