3 CTG members surrender in Bulacan

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Three members of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) voluntarily surrendered to authorities in Bulacan on Saturday (July 15).

Based on the report of Col. Relly B. Arnedo, Bulacan provincial director to Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., regional director of the Police Regional Office-Central Luzon (PRO-3), identified the three communist terrorist group (CTG) members as Ka Brix, supply unit operation in Ifugao; Ka Irma, Political Instructor operating in Nueva Ecija, Rizal and Zambales; and Ka Jr.

Hidalgo said the three surrendered rebels also yielded one Uzi submachine gun, a caliber .9mm, two magazines, five live ammunition, one hand grenade, and one rifle grenade with a bullet trap.

He urged other rebels to return to the fold of the law and avail of government assistance.

“We encourage other members of the CTGs to return to the folds of the law, go back to their communities, and have renewed lives,” Hidalgo said in a statement. (UnliNews Online)
