LA TRINIDAD, Benguet — Fifteen kilos of cannabis sativa (marijuana) worth P1,700,000 were seized from two drug peddlers involved in the bulk distribution of marijuana in Bulacan following a buy-bust operation on Wednesday in a private parking lot in Barangay Balili, La Trinidad town on Wednesday (April 12).
The captured suspects were identified by operating teams as Marion Tinapen Asislo, alias Richard, is 35 years old, a married man from Sasaba, Santol, La Union; and Amado Paycao y Anatel, 40 years old, male, single, lives in Bay-o Sasaba, Santol, La Union.
The apprehended defendants were involved in the bulk distribution of marijuana in Bulacan and neighboring provinces in Central Luzon, according to a PDEA Bulacan Provincial Officer.
The sting operation yielded 14 pieces of tape-wrapped tubes containing more or less 15 kilos of suspected dried marijuana leaves with an estimated street value of Php 1,700,000.00; and the marked money used by the poseur buyer.
The operation was conducted jointly by operatives led by PDEA Bulacan Provincial Office and PDEA CAR.
Confiscated pieces of evidence will be forwarded to PDEA-3 Laboratory Section for forensic examination.
Appropriate cases for violation of Republic Act 9165 or otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022 will be filed against the arrested suspects. (UnliNews Online)
