STA. CRUZ, Manila — More than two kilos of high-grade marijuana (kush) worth P3,923,700.00 was seized from a male consignee following a controlled delivery operation along Quezon Blvd., Barangay 310, Sta. Cruz on Wednesday (April 13).
PDEA Central Luzon team leader identified the apprehended claimant as Jeric G. Herrera, 27 years old, single, and resident of #143 Alley F. Telecom Compound, Brgy. 310,Sta. Cruz, Manila.
Herrera yielded one large Brown Box containing five tin cans concealed therein were five transparent plastic pouches containing dried leaves and fruiting top suspected as kush with estimated weight of more or less 2. 378 kilos amounting to P3,923,700.00; one Identification Card; and one Air Waybill.
Operating teams disclosed that the parcel containing illegal drugs emanated from the USA arrived at the Port of Clark on April 11, 2023.
“The package was declared as Tevana Green Herbal Tea. It underwent X-ray and K-9 inspection which indicated the presence of dangerous drugs. A physical examination was thereafter conducted that led to the discovery of five transparent plastic pouches containing the subject kush”, PDEA agent said.
The operation was conducted jointly by operatives led by PDEA Central Luzon, PDEA Clark AIU-Clark Inter Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group, Bureau of Customs – Port of Clark, PDEA-NCR and Manila Police District .
A charge for violation of Section 4 ( importation of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 will be filed against the arrested consignee. (UnliNews Online)
