PRC encourages Bulakenyos to be advocates of humanitarian services

CITY OF MALOLOS —  In order to encourage participation and become advocates of humanitarian services, the Philippine Red Cross – Bulacan Chapter held the Walk for Humanity wherein approximately 4,100 Bulakenyos participated in the march that started at Malolos Sports and Convention Center to Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium here.

In line with the theme “PRC is always first, always ready, and always there in service for humanity”, the program was launched to adapt and promote the Red Cross 143 program across all barangays in the province and encourages every family to have at least one responder to strengthen the PRC’s mission of providing humanitarian aid to those in need.

Being an advocate himself, Governor Daniel R. Fernando gave his message through his representative James Santos and expressed his support for the cause.

He also encouraged the Bulakenyos to support and promote volunteerism in the province.

Iana Khrys Godoy, a second-year nursing student, joined the walk and enticed the youth to participate and support the PRCs advocacies and programs.

The program was also attended by Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office Head Rowena J. Tiongson, Bulacan State University President Cecilia Navasero-Gascon, Congresswoman Lorna C. Silverio, PRC board of directors including Raymundo Carlos, Bartolome Agustin, Annabelle Talusan, Rosalie Lava, Josefina Natividad and Dr. Erwin Tecson and other volunteers. (UnliNews Online)
