PARANAQUE CITY — Three individuals involved in the bulk methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) in Metro Manila and nearby towns of Bulacan were arrested and yielded some 500 grams of shabu worth P3,400,000.00 after a successful buy-bust operation on Monday morning (Sept. 1) in Barangay Tambo.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) team leader identified the main target of operation as alias Nards, male, 46 years old. Two other arrested suspects were identified as alias Chris, male, 46; and alias Lon, male, 42.
The sting operation led to the seizure of approximately 500 grams of shabu worth P3,400,000.00, along with the marked money used by the undercover agent.
PDEA said that NARDS and his accomplices are implicated in the proliferation of shabu throughout Metro Manila and into neighboring Bulacan towns.
Confiscated illegal substances will be forwarded to PDEA RO3 laboratory and will undergo qualitative and quantitative examinations.
The operation was conducted through the collaborative effort between PDEA Bulacan Provincial Office, PDEA National Capital Region, and PNP Drug Enforcement Group.
A non-bailable offense under Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), in relation to section 26B (Conspiracy to Sell Drugs), of Republic Act 9165 will be filed against the arrested suspects, which carries a penalty of life imprisonment and fine ranging P500,000.00 to 10 million pesos upon conviction.
