PRO3 records nearly 49% drop in crimes against persons under safer cities program

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) has recorded a marked decline in crimes against persons following the rollout of the Safer Cities Program, underscoring the impact of more focused and intelligence-driven policing across the region.

Comparative data show that incidents dropped from 41 cases recorded between March 26 to April 5, 2026, to 21 cases from April 6 to April 16, 2026—a reduction of 20 cases or nearly 49 percent.

PRO3 Regional Director PBGEN Jess B. Mendez said the improvement can be attributed to increased police visibility, more deliberate deployment of personnel, and closer coordination with local government units and community partners.

“This reflects what consistent, well-coordinated policing can achieve on the ground. Our efforts are aligned with the directive of our Chief, PNP, PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., to keep our communities safe, secure, and conducive to progress,” Mendez said.

The Safer Cities Program, implemented in support of the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s initiative and reinforced by PNP leadership under PGEN Nartatez Jr., focuses on enhancing police presence, improving response time, and strengthening community engagement as key measures in crime prevention.

PRO3 assured the public that it will sustain this momentum, further strengthen its preventive strategies, and continue working closely with partner agencies and the community to preserve peace and order across Central Luzon. (UnliNews Online)
