Top 1 most wanted person dies in encounter during warrant op in Tarlac

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — A joint law enforcement operation conducted by personnel of Police Station 5 and the City Intelligence Unit of Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) resulted in the neutralization of the Top 1 Most Wanted Person of Police Station 5 -Angeles CPO following an armed encounter in Brgy. Salcedo, San Manuel, Tarlac on Wednesday (May 13) afternoon.

The suspect, identified as alias “Bungo,” a resident of Angeles City, Pampanga, was facing charges for Homicide and Slight Physical Injury based on warrants of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court in Angeles City. Investigation also revealed that the suspect was the primary suspect in the shooting incident involving an intelligence operative of Angeles City Police Office.

The operation was jointly carried out by intelligence operatives of PS5, ACPO and CIU, ACPO as part of the intensified campaign against wanted persons and violent offenders.

According to reports, while operatives were implementing the warrants of arrest in the area, the suspect sensed the presence of law enforcement personnel and attempted to flee by jumping beneath a bridge. The suspect allegedly opened fire at the operating troops, prompting the operatives to return fire.

The suspect sustained gunshot wounds and was immediately brought to a nearby hospital where he was later declared dead by the attending physician.
PRO3 Director PBGEN Jess B Mendez commended the operating personnel for their professionalism and dedication in carrying out the operation despite the risks involved.

“Our police personnel will continue to carry out lawful operations to ensure that individuals facing criminal charges are brought before the court. While we always prioritize peaceful and orderly police actions, our operatives are also trained and prepared to respond when their safety and the lives of others are placed in danger.
