PRO3 acts swiftly on viral video including alleged criminology students

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police authorities in Cabanatuan City immediately acted on a viral social media video showing individuals allegedly identified as criminology students who were reportedly under the influence of alcohol while onboard a vehicle.

Upon receiving information about the circulating video, the chief of police of Cabanatuan City Police Station promptly directed investigators to verify the identities of the individuals involved and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Initial verification confirmed that the individuals appearing in the video are reportedly criminology students. Coordination with the concerned school authorities is currently being undertaken to facilitate further verification and appropriate action.

The station also established communication with the uploader of the viral video, who expressed willingness to coordinate with authorities and assist in the proper documentation of the incident.

As part of the ongoing investigation, Cabanatuan CPS coordinated with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) regarding the vehicle seen in the video. Appropriate administrative proceedings were initiated by the agency pending further evaluation of the incident.

Meanwhile, police personnel continue to monitor social media platforms and gather relevant information to ensure that all circumstances surrounding the incident are thoroughly examined and properly addressed.

PRO3 Regional Director P/Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez underscored the importance of discipline, responsibility, and accountability, particularly among individuals preparing for careers in public service.

“This incident serves as a reminder that discipline and responsible behavior must be practiced at all times, especially by those aspiring to become future law enforcers. We assure the public that appropriate actions are being undertaken in coordination with the concerned agencies and stakeholders to ensure accountability and adherence to the law,” Mendez said.

He also encouraged the public to continue supporting law enforcement efforts by responsibly reporting incidents that may affect public safety and community welfare.
