CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — A total of 575 newly appointed Patrolmen and Patrolwomen formally joined the ranks of the Philippine National Police (PNP) after taking their Oath of Office during a ceremony at the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) Parade Ground here, marking a fresh boost to the police force serving Central Luzon.
From more than 3,000 applicants, the 575 successful appointees underwent a rigorous recruitment and selection process that included screening, medical and psychological examinations, and background validation.
The new recruits filled 422 attrition quota slots and 153 regular quota slots, adding fresh personnel to PRO3’s manpower and strengthening police visibility and operational readiness across Central Luzon.
The oath was administered by PRO3 Regional Director P/Brig. Gen. Jess B Mendez, following the formal presentation of the appointees by P/Col. Reynaldo S Ogay Jr., Deputy Regional Director for Administration and head of the Regional Screening Committee.
In his message, Mendez reminded the recruits that entering the police service comes with responsibility, accountability, and the trust of the public.
“The training will build not only your physical strength, but also your discipline, character, and ability to make the right decision under pressure. Soon, you will be given authority, responsibility, and the trust of the people. Huwag ninyong kalimutan, ang authority na iyan ay hindi pribilehiyo. It is a responsibility entrusted to you—to protect people, uphold the law, and serve with integrity,” Mendez said.
He also reminded the new appointees that their entry into the service supports the PNP Focused Agenda of Chief, PNP P/Gen. Jose Melencio C Nartatez Jr., particularly in strengthening personnel capability, professionalism, and responsive police service.
The recruits will next undergo formal training that will prepare them for the discipline, demands, and responsibilities of police work.
Their entry into the organization forms part of PRO3’s continuing effort to build a disciplined, professional, and people-centered police force capable of delivering serbisyong mabilis, tapat, at nararamdaman to communities across Central Luzon. (UnliNews Online)
