PRO3 deploys 13,497 personnel for Undas 2026 security

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) has deployed 13,497 police personnel, augmentation forces, advocacy groups, and force multipliers across Central Luzon to ensure public safety and maintain peace and order during the observance of Undas 2026.

The security deployment covers 688 burial sites across the region, including 501 cemeteries, 175 memorial parks, and 12 columbaria, as authorities prepare for the expected influx of visitors paying respects to their departed loved ones.

A total of 7,991 PRO3 personnel will be deployed from October 30 to November 3, 2026, including 2,802 personnel assigned to interment sites and 5,189 personnel performing other security and public-safety duties. The deployment is further supported by 857 augmented personnel from other agencies and 4,649 members of advocacy groups and force multipliers.

PRO3 has also established 614 Police Assistance Desks (PADs) in strategic areas to assist the public and provide immediate police response when needed.

Additional police assistance and visibility measures have likewise been put in place along major highways and expressways, including NLEX, SCTEX, and TPLEX, as increased movement of motorists and travelers is expected during the Undas break.

P/Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez, Regional Director of PRO3, said the deployment is intended not only to secure cemeteries and memorial parks but also to ensure police presence along major roads, terminals, and other areas where large numbers of people are expected.

“Our personnel will be visible where the public needs them most. Our priority is to keep people safe and make police assistance readily available throughout the observance of Undas,” RD Mendez stated.

He also urged the public to do their part in keeping the Undas observance safe by securing their homes before leaving, planning their trips ahead, observing traffic and cemetery rules, keeping children and personal belongings closely attended, and avoiding unnecessary risks while traveling.
“Public safety is a shared responsibility. We ask everyone to remain alert, cooperate with authorities, and immediately report suspicious activities, emergencies, or any situation requiring police assistance. Our personnel and Police Assistance Desks are ready to help,” RD Mendez added.

The security preparations form part of PRO3’s implementation of the PNP Focused Agenda, with emphasis on proactive policing, enhanced police visibility, public safety, and rapid response during major public activities.
PRO3 will continue monitoring cemeteries, memorial parks, transportation hubs, highways, expressways, and other convergence areas throughout the Undas period. (UnliNews Online)
