TARLAC CITY (PIA) — The Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Field Office 3 has distributed cash aid to about 1,126 farmers from Tarlac under the Presidential Assistance for Farmers and Fisherfolk Program (PAFFP).
This program aims to help farmers and fisherfolk cope with rising production costs, from land cultivation, irrigation, transportation, and other farming expenses.
DA Regional Technical Director for Operations and Extension Arthur Dayrit emphasized the importance of providing immediate response to the needs of farmers, especially amid the challenges brought about by high fuel prices.
Under PAFFP, each beneficiary received P2,325 as additional support for their livelihood.
Meanwhile, local government officials also reaffirmed their commitment to continuously support the agriculture sector of the province.
Through the program, the government continues to strengthen its support for farmers and fisherfolk, recognizing their important role in ensuring the country’s food security. (Ara Jamica R. Reparejo)
