BUSTOS, Bulacan — The National Water Resources Board (NWRB) has approved the extension of irrigation allocation to Bustos Dam coming from Angat Dam.
Sevillo David Jr., executive director of the National Water Resources Board (NWRB) said recently that their board has approved the extended irrigation water allocation to Bustos Dam by 10 cubic meter per second (CMS) from May 1-15 and five CMS for May 16-30 period.
Enrique Carlos, National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Bulacan irrigation management office manager said that the scheduled water allocation for its service areas in Bulacan and Pampanga for the dry palay cropping season has lapsed on April 30.
However, Carlos added that more or less 5,000 hectares of ricelands in the two provinces are still on its terminal irrigation cropping stage that still needs irrigation water.
An extension on irrigation water supply coming from Angat Dam was requested by NIA to save the said rice crops that were planted late for this year’s dry cropping season, Carlos added. (UnliNews Online)
