A JOINT anti-illegal drugs operation led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), in coordination with the Philippine National Police (PNP), was successfully conducted on Sunday (May 3) at Brgy. Bacao 1, General Trias, Cavite, resulting in the arrest of four individuals and the seizure of a significant quantity of suspected shabu.
During the operation, PDEA as the lead implementing agency, supported by PNP maritime, provincial, and local police units, was able to intercept an alleged illegal drug transaction. Authorities recovered approximately 9,000 grams of suspected shabu with standard drug price of P61,200,000.00, along with marked money, identification documents, communication devices, and a motor vehicle believed to have been used in the activity.
The arrested individuals are now under police custody and will face appropriate charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., recognized the coordinated efforts of all operating units, stressing that sustained teamwork remains key in dismantling drug networks.
“Ang tagumpay ng operasyong ito ay bunga ng maayos na ugnayan at mabilis na aksyon ng ating mga operatiba. We continue to strengthen our operations not only to arrest offenders but to disrupt the entire supply chain of illegal drugs,” said PGen Nartatez.
He added that the operation is in line with the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, supporting President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to strengthen anti-crime and anti-illegal drug initiatives nationwide.
Authorities said follow-up actions are ongoing to identify possible links and prevent further distribution of illegal drugs in the area.
This accomplishment reflects the government’s sustained efforts to protect communities and uphold peace and order, in support of the vision of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.” (UnliNews Online)
