CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — The Pampanga Police Provincial Office (PPO) under the leadership of P/Col. Eugene M. Marcelo, Provincial Director, successfully arrested two robbery suspects and recovered more than P1.1 million in looted cash during a hot pursuit operation conducted in Angeles City on Wednesday (May 6).
The arrested suspects were identified as alias “James,” 27, a construction worker, and alias “Bai,” 49, a security guard, both residents of Purok 2, Lipat Sapa, Brgy. Sapangbato, Angeles City.
The suspects were apprehended at around 4 p.m. by joint operatives of the Mabalacat City Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) Pampanga, Regional Intelligence Unit 3 (RIU3), Regional Investigation Division (RID), Intelligence Operatives Platoon (IOP), and Police Station 5 of Angeles City Police Office.
The operation was launched following the robbery with intimidation incident that transpired at PELCO II Madapdap, Mabalacat City, Pampanga on May 4, 2026.
Initial investigation revealed that responding police operatives immediately conducted CCTV backtracking and footage review within the area of incident. The CCTV footage reportedly captured clear facial images of the suspects prior to the commission of the robbery.
Authorities were able to positively identify one of the suspects due to a previous arrest record, which prompted the immediate conduct of a hot pursuit operation that eventually led to the arrest of the suspects at their residence area in Brgy. Sapangbato, Angeles City.
Recovered during the operation was part of the looted cash money amounting to P1,102,000.00, which was found under the constructive possession and control of the arrested suspects.
The arrested individuals were later turned over to Mabalacat City Police Station at around 7:30 p.m. of the same date for proper documentation and filing of appropriate criminal charges.
“The Pampanga PPO emphasized that the successful operation highlights the strong coordination among intelligence and operating units in swiftly resolving crimes and apprehending offenders.” Col. Marcelo said. (UnliNews Online)
