New hospital boosts worker welfare, strengthens investor confidence in Clark

CLARK FREEPORT ZONE (PIA) — The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) has welcomed the opening of the Pampanga Provincial Hospital–Clark (PPH-Clark), describing it as a major addition to healthcare services that strengthens both worker welfare and investor confidence inside the Clark Freeport Zone.

CDC President and Chief Executive Officer Agnes Devanadera said the presence of a modern government hospital inside Clark reflects the government’s commitment to providing quality services not only to residents of Pampanga but also to the thousands of employees working within the economic zone.

“Hindi dahil government hospital, e government hospital lang. Dito, pag sinabi mong Pampanga Provincial Government Hospital, ang sagot, wow! That is an indication that here, we are giving the best. The government is giving the best to our workers,” Devanadera said.

She noted that Clark hosts more than 151,000 workers, making access to immediate and reliable healthcare a critical part of maintaining productivity, safety, and overall workforce welfare.

She said the establishment of PPH-Clark helps address long-standing concerns of employees who previously had to seek medical attention outside the Freeport Zone, often requiring additional travel time and expenses.

The CDC chief also emphasized that healthcare infrastructure is a key factor in sustaining investor confidence, as locators consider the availability of essential services such as hospitals when choosing and expanding operations in economic zones.

Devanadera added that the hospital aligns with Clark’s broader development direction, where economic growth is matched with social services for workers and surrounding communities.

She likewise noted that transport links to the hospital are already in place, with buses and jeepneys serving routes near the facility, while further improvements are expected with future transport system upgrades inside Clark.

“[Lalong mapapadali ang access] pag nagawa na yung ating trimodal transportation hub. Pero sa ngayon, nandoon ang bus stop, nandoon katabi lang ang mga jeepneys that go inside. Ang hihilingin lang natin sa mga lines of transportation ngayon, isama sa ruta [itong hospital],” the CDC chief said.

Once fully operational, PPH-Clark is expected to generate around 401 jobs, contributing to employment opportunities for Kapampangans while strengthening healthcare delivery in the province. (Marie Joy S. Carbungco )
