CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) arrested a DILG-listed national wost wanted person with a P90,000 reward in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna, on Friday evening (August 28).
The 46-year-old accused was arrested by the Regional Special Operations Group–Regional Intelligence Division 3 (RSOG-RID3), together with RDEU3, DI, RIU3, RID PRO9, CIDG RFU3, RID4A, and Sta. Rosa CPS, by virtue of a warrant of arrest for Murder issued by RTC Branch 17, Zamboanga City.
The accused had been wanted in connection with a 2003 murder case. Despite the issuance of a warrant in January 2004, he remained at large for more than two decades and was eventually included in the list of National Most Wanted Persons.
The arrest was the result of sustained intelligence work, records validation, and close coordination among concerned police units and government agencies.
PRO3 Regional Director P/Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez said the operation demonstrates that the passage of time will not stop the police from pursuing persons wanted by the law.
“Time does not erase accountability. We will continue to pursue wanted persons, no matter how long they have been hiding. Every warrant we serve helps move a case forward, gives victims and their families another opportunity to pursue justice, and removes from our communities individuals who have long evaded the law,” P/BGen. Mendez said.
He added that sustained manhunt operations are not simply about increasing arrest figures, but about making communities safer, strengthening public confidence in law enforcement, and ensuring that persons facing criminal charges are brought before the courts.
The accused is being brought to the RSOG3 Custodial Facility at Camp Olivas for documentation prior to presentation before the concerned court. (Unlinews Online)
