Police arrest Bataan murder suspect in Pampanga

In less than 15 hours after shooting

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police operatives arrested the suspect in the fatal shooting incident in Hermosa, Bataan, less than 15 hours after the crime, marking a significant development in the ongoing investigation.

The suspect was apprehended at around 11:40 p.m. on Friday (June 26), during a coordinated follow-up operation in Barangay San Juan, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

The arrest stemmed from the shooting incident that occurred earlier that day in Barangay Culis, Hermosa, Bataan, where a 42-year-old man was shot dead.

During the operation, authorities recovered a U.S. Carbine Caliber .30 with a loaded magazine and located the white Toyota Tamaraw allegedly used in the commission of the crime. The suspect and the recovered evidence were brought to the Hermosa Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and legal proceedings. A complaint for Murder is being prepared for filing.

Police Regional Office 3 Director P/Brig. Gen. Mendez commended the operating units for their swift and coordinated response.

“The immediate arrest of the suspect reflects our commitment to ensuring that those responsible for violent crimes are brought to justice. While this is a major breakthrough, the investigation remains ongoing as we continue to pursue all leads and establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident,” Mendez said.

PRO3 assured the public that follow-up investigation and case build-up operations will continue to determine the possible involvement of other individuals and ensure that everyone responsible is held accountable. The Regional Office remains steadfast in advancing the PNP Focused Agenda through intelligence-driven and responsive police operations, reinforcing its commitment to delivering Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman to the people of Central Luzon.
