CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — DTI-Bulacan and SM City San Jose Del Monte led recently the first run of Business Continuity Planning Seminar for 2026 which was attended by seventy (70) combined mall tenants and MSMEs operating within the city of San Jose Del Monte.
This is the second run of BCP for SM CSJDM since it started in 2025. The BCP seminar aims to increase the participant’s resiliency and preparedness for potential business disruptions. Facilitators from Negosyo Center San Jose Del Monte, namely, Janice Guilalas, Jelly Magno and Ryan Crisostomo with DTI Bulacan Provincial office associates Alex Roy Dela Cruz and Jon Bryan Santos, discussed about risk identification, developing continuity strategies, minimizing operational downtime, sustaining business operations during emergencies and Actual writing of BCP.
SM City CSJDM Assistant Mall Manager Louise Uychiat and Tenant Relations officer Romalyn Ordoñez delivered their messages to participants during the activity while other SM mangers namely Army Knight Petil, Jennifer Cocneptcion and Anna May Gabay showed equal support in assisting the participants during the whole event duration.
The program was rooted to DTI and SM’s partnership under a Memorandum of Understanding signed on July 18, 2024, underscoring their shared commitment to empower micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This collaboration had developed a nationwide program to boost resilience and market access for local businesses by pooling the resources of both parties in providing them with mall space, training, and mentorship opportunities.
The team of DTI and SM aims to complete capacity-strengthening Business Continuity Planning (BCP) workshops for at least Six Thousand (6,000.00) MSMEs by 2027.
The partnership was led by former DTI Secretary Alfredo E. Pascual and SM Prime holdings Inc’s Chariman of the Executive Committee, Mr. Hans Ty. Sy who committed to implement the program to all SM branches across the country. (UnliNews Online)
