SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — About 3000 scholarship grantees of the provincial government of Pampanga attended the Information Education Campaign (IEC) on national security and West Philippine Sea (WPS) Advocacy from the Northern Luzon Command, AFP, through the 1st Civil Relations Group (1CRG) CRSAFP on Tuesday (Sept. 30), at Brenz C. Guiao Convention Center, San Fernando City, Pampanga.
In partnership with the provincial government of Pampanga headed by Governor Lilia G. Pineda, the IEC coincided with the distribution of educational financial assistance of the provincial government.
1CRG, CRSAFP Group Commander Colonel Enrique G. Rafael Philippine Army, emphasized the importance of strengthening youth awareness and action on national security and maritime sovereignty.
“As Iskolar ng Bayan, it is fitting that our students are informed about the Communist Terrorist Group’s (CTG) deceptive recruitment to prevent them from being recruited, as well as understanding the issues affecting the West Philippine Sea (WPS), eventually enabling them to stand firm and contribute to safeguarding our national security and maritime sovereignty,” Colonel Rafael stated.
He also expressed his gratitude to Governor Pineda for her commitment to protecting the youth and for supporting the NOLCOM IEC efforts.
“Our partnerships exemplify our collective approach in the attainment of inclusive and sustainable peace,” he added.
NOLCOM will continue to conduct similar activities in its joint operational area to strengthen the youth’s understanding of their role in building a peaceful and better nation. (UnliNews Online)
