CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — A total of 870 newly appointed patrolmen and patrolwomen formally joined the Philippine National Police after taking their Oath of Office on Wednesday (Dec. 17) at the PRO3 Post Grandstand, Camp Captain Julian Olivas.
Out of more than 3,000 applicants who aspired to wear the PNP uniform, only 870 successfully passed the stringent recruitment process, which included thorough screening, medical and psychological evaluations, and background validation. The successful applicants filled 550 attrition quota slots and 320 regular quota slots, boosting police manpower, improving the police-to-population ratio, and strengthening police visibility and operational readiness across Central Luzon.
The oath was administered by PRO3 Regional Director P/Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr., following the formal presentation of the recruits by P/Col. Rommel S. Batangan, Deputy Regional Director for Administration.
In his message, RD Peñones emphasized that police service is a duty grounded in accountability and public trust.
“Police service is not just employment—it is a commitment, a responsibility, and a calling. Sa pagtaas ng inyong kanang kamay, kayo ay nangakong maglilingkod nang tapat—kahit mahirap, kahit walang nanonood, at kahit walang pumupuri,” RD Peñones said.
He added that the entry of new police personnel directly supports the PNP Focused Agenda of Acting Chief PNP P/Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., particularly in personnel development, and strengthened police-community partnership.
The activity underscores PRO3’s continuing efforts to build a disciplined, professional, and people-centered police force, committed to serving the public and safeguarding peace and order in Central Luzon. (UnliNews Online)
