Gov. Fernando receives P10-M educational assistance from PAGCOR for Bulakenyo scholars

CITY OF MALOLOS — Governor Daniel R. Fernando accepted a P10-million check for educational assistance on behalf of the Provincial Government of Bulacan, officially turned over by Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco during the First Monday Flag Ceremony (July 6) at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium here.

The ceremonial turnover of the check formed part of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the educational assistance programs of the PGB under the “Tulong Pang-Edukasyon Para sa Bulakenyo” and “Ayudang Hatid ay Tagumpay Program.”

Accordingly, P5 million will be allocated to 1,000 Bulakenyo first-year college students pursuing four-year degree programs in either private or public universities while the remaining P5 million will benefit another 1,000 students taking technical and vocational programs, or two-year courses.

During the ceremony, Tengco announced PAGCOR’s collaboration with the PGB for the construction of 10 new school buildings across the province. Each three-storey building will consist of 13 classrooms equipped with complete school facilities, with funding support coming from PAGCOR.

He likewise revealed plans for the establishment of the Bulacan Sports Academy at the Bulacan Sports Complex through a partnership between PAGCOR and the PGB, aimed at further advancing sports development and youth empowerment initiatives in the province.

With these upcoming initiatives, Fernando expressed his gratitude to PAGCOR and conveyed his optimism for stronger collaborations and more joint projects in the future.

“Lubos po tayong nagpapasalamat sa PAGCOR sa kanilang suporta at malasakit sa edukasyon ng ating kabataan. Inaasahan din natin ang mas marami pang magiging proyekto at matatag na pakikipagtulungan sa PAGCOR para sa kapakanan at kinabukasan ng mga Bulakenyo,” Fernando said. (UnliNews Online)
