TESDA, PRO3 personnel equip with solar energy skills

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3), through the Regional Headquarters Support Unit (RHSU) partnered with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in conducting a two-day Basic Off-Grid Sizing, Design, and Installation Training for Logistics PNCOs and maintenance personnel of PRO 3 on Friday and Saturday (June 5-6, 2026) at PRO 3 Grandstand, Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga
.
The training aimed to enhance the technical competencies of participating personnel in installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and commissioning solar energy systems, equipping them with practical skills to support operational requirements while promoting efficiency and self-reliance.

During the opening program, TESDA Specialist II Noel I. De Guzman emphasized the importance of developing technical skills among law enforcement personnel, noting that these competencies can enhance operational effectiveness and contribute to community resilience and sustainable development.

Serving as resource persons were Mr. Ian M Nicdao and Mr. Jonathan R Señora, who facilitated lectures and hands-on demonstrations on the fundamentals of solar system installation and commissioning.

P/Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez lauded the initiative and underscored the value of continuous learning and capability enhancement among police personnel.

“This training is a valuable investment in the development of our personnel. As the demands of public service continue to evolve, our police officers must acquire practical skills that enhance not only their professional capabilities but also their ability to contribute to sustainable and innovative solutions within our organization and communities. Through this partnership with TESDA, we are empowering our personnel to become more resourceful, self-reliant, and responsive to the needs of the times. I commend RHSU and TESDA for providing this meaningful learning opportunity for our personnel,” P/Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez said.

The activity forms part of PRO3’s continuing efforts to strengthen the knowledge and skills of its personnel in line with the PNP Focused Agenda of Chief, PNP, P/Gen. Jose Melencio C Nartatez Jr, particularly in promoting professionalism, innovation, and organizational effectiveness in public service. (UnliNews Online)
