CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) arrested 10 drug suspects and seized approximately 298.61 grams of suspected shabu worth P2,030,548.00 in five separate anti-illegal drug operations in Bataan, Pampanga, Zambales, and Olongapo City from Wednesday (Aug. 26) to the early morning of Thursday (Aug. 27).
The series of operations disrupted illegal drug activities and prevented a significant amount of suspected shabu from reaching communities.
The latest operation took place at around 3 a.m. on August 27 in Brgy. Calapacuan, Subic, Zambales, where police arrested two suspects, including a High-Value Individual (HVI), and recovered 53.61 grams of suspected shabu valued at P364,548.00.
Four other operations were conducted on August 26.
At around 11:50 p.m. in Brgy. Del Rosario, City of San Fernando, Pampanga, police arrested two suspects and seized approximately 55 grams of suspected shabu worth P374,000.00.
In Brgy. Gabon, Abucay, Bataan, two suspects were arrested at around 8:30 p.m., with police recovering approximately 80 grams of suspected shabu valued at P544,000.00.
Meanwhile, at around 8:15 p.m. in Brgy. West Bajac-Bajac, Olongapo City, two newly identified HVIs were arrested and approximately 58 grams of suspected shabu worth P394,400.00 were seized.
Earlier that afternoon, at around 4:p.m. in Brgy. Talimundoc, Orani, Bataan, police arrested two suspects and confiscated approximately 52 grams of suspected shabu valued at P353,600.00.
PRO3 Regional Director P/Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez, said the successive operations reflect the region’s continuing effort to keep illegal drugs out of communities, in support of the PNP Focused Agenda of Chief, PNP P/ Gen. Jose Melencio C Nartatez Jr.
“These operations go beyond the number of arrests and the amount of drugs seized. Every illegal drug taken off the streets is one less threat to our families, especially our young people. We will continue to pursue those involved in the illegal drug trade through judicious, lawful, and sustained police operations,” Gen. Mendez said.
The arrested suspects and recovered pieces of evidence were brought to the respective police units for proper disposition. Appropriate charges for violations of Republic Act No. 9165 are being prepared for filing in court. (UnliNews Online)
