LIMAY, Bataan — A 71-year-old female drug peddler and four other suspected drug personalities were arrested after a buy-bust operation yielded around P136,000 worth of suspected shabu in Barangay Lamao here Thursday night (October 1).
The five suspects were apprehended at about 8:38 p.m. during the police operation, which led to the confiscation of the suspected illegal drugs.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Bataan Provincial Office identified the main target of the operation as alias “Neng”. Her four cohorts were identified by their aliases as alias Mhaysia, 32 years old; alias Em-Em, 21; alias Onas, 50 and alias Totoy, 47.
Operating teams recovered seven transparent plastic sachets containing approximately 20 grams of suspected shabu (valued at P136,000.00), assorted drug paraphernalia, three mobile phones, and the buy-bust money.
The arrested suspects will be temporarily detained at the PDEA Region 3 Detention Facility in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga, while the seized illegal drugs will undergo forensic examination at the PDEA Region 3 Laboratory.
The operation was conducted by combined elements of the PDEA Bataan Provincial Office and the Bataan PPO Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU).
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are now being prepared for filing in court against the suspects. (UnliNews Online)
