MANILA — Pinoy pride Kai Sotto did not see action in the Orlando Magic’s first game in the NBA 2K24 Summer League against the Detroit Pistons on Saturday (Sunday in Manila) at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
The 7-foot-3 Filipino was listed as active for the game but was a DNP-Coach’s Decision on the box score in the Magic’s 89-78 loss.
Orlando only used 10 players, including Anthony Black and Jett Howard, the Nos. 6 and 11 picks in this year’s NBA Draft.
Detroit was led by former No. 2 overall pick James Wiseman, who posted 16 points, 12 rebounds, and two blocks in the win.
Sotto’s next chance will be against his former Adelaide 36ers teammate Mojave King and the Indiana Pacers on Monday (Tuesday in Manila), which could be the next opportunity for Sotto to see minutes.
